Neha Dhupia made a statement 20 years back ‘only SRK or Sex sells’….we are in 2023 and no matter how much times have changed – “SRK or Sex”- still is cinema/OTT’s biggest bet. But there is also need for ‘real content’ with 3Rs – Relatability, Relevance and Rivet and the Tank with popular Sharks is certainly creating a buzz!
The day threw me again to some reminiscing mode in the comforting bed- hasn’t every lost opportunity pushed me beyond my limits? Hasn’t every failed relation- taught me a lesson and raised my bar higher? Haven’t I been compensated for everything I lost for in some better shape and form? With a heart full of gratitude- I continued on the trip.
This part of year is all about going BIG – in terms of hosting, playing, dressing, drinking and most important of all- reestablishing the relationships, finding harmony in letting go, laughing over the wrong and right doings of year gone by and praying for peace and positivity all along!
Fat to Fit- From a Rookie’s lens. While putting on weight by an hour (all thanks to my Punjabi genes and some mad people making food innovations all around), one day I suddenly got into this mode of self-realisation. Credits to the glorified fitness videos all over Insta, or hot and sexy Malaika Arora flaunting her perfect bums and boobs at the age of 50, or some friends giving gyan on how important fitness is or closer to home- those dresses which don’t fit me anymore and made me feel like my net worth (which proudly was in my clothes until now) is depleting every day.
Krishna in his every avatar was indeed an epitome of excellence but was it his ‘Om tat sat’ (that which is forever true) and life goals in Gita or his astute mindset for business and politics that brings him closer to lesser mortals like us. I guess neither of the two!! To my every being, it was his irresistible charm, his unapologetic flirting, his mischievous smile, his uncanny activities which makes Mira/ Radha long for him as ‘chit chor’, aam aadmi worship their ‘kanha ji’ and look upto their ‘Girdhari’.
Truly inspired by the latest of Ali Sethi and Shae Gill – “Pasoori” took us down the realms of magical madness of LOVE. Even the most beautiful thing becomes poisonous when it crosses the line of intensity but can you really experience the MADNESS and the HIGH without being drowned into the extremes of vices? Let’s try and decode the two biggest virtues and vices- LOVE and AMBITION.
Most of us have gone through the agony of Heart break in some shape or form. That screeching pain, sheer helplessness and constantly flowing tears- what’s that one promise that we do to ourselves- We will never fall in this shitty trap of love again. We decide that nothing is worth the pain and suddenly the entire faith in the most beautiful thing of universe is shattered makes it the most resisted thing.
Road to Self-LOVE- sounds familiar- looks like it’s the WORD in the AIR these days. A society which used to thrive on basic human self-doubts and insecurities has suddenly shifted gears and is now so focussed on teaching SELF LOVE.
We all will agree that one of the most important moments in a relationship is “Introduction of your partner/crush/special friend to your gang of friends”. Some credit to “John Grey” for the MARS and VENUS concept- this exact same moment comes very differently for a guy and a girl introducing their ‘special’ to their group of friends. Crush at workplace – is it possible to maintain thin line between innocent sweet crush and tint of lust? These COVID times have been a big bummer and a LONG hibernation – while unbelievable interaction over video calls, mails, re-activated whatsapp groups kept us hooked and opened new avenues in all sorts, there was certainly no personal connection to any of it…… almost forgot how touch feels (literally and figuratively) 😉 . Suddenly we started to realize the importance of three hungers of human existence taught in school- love, appreciation and touch !!
